: Didactic and Methodological Implications of Keystroke Logging
Eva Lindgren
Skrifter från moderna språk, nr 18
Writing and Revising includes studies in which keystroke recordings are used as bases for visualization of and reflection on the cognitive processes that underlie writing. Particular attention is paid to writing revision. Revisions made at the point of inscription are highlighted as potential windows on cognitive processing during transcription. Writing and Revising provides concrete ideas about how to develop learners' language and writing skills. A learning method, Peer-based Intervention, is introduced and examined. The results show that the method raised adult and teen-aged writers' awareness of linguistic and extra-linguistic features. The studies included in this book offer learners, educators and researchers in the fields of language learning and writing development insights into the potential of keystroke logging as a learning and research tool.
